Coffee beans are any beans roasted and readied for brewing, from light to dark. Espresso beans, however, is coffee roasted to a darker colour. This is the perfect coffee for machines as they offer the least acidity with a fuller body. These beans have more natural oils; you can see it in the sheen of the coffee beans. The oils emulsify the best to give you that espresso cream that you want when you press the button on your coffee machine.
Be sure to stay in the middle when you choose your beans. Too light and it won’t give you the punchy brew you expect. Too dark and it will only clog your grinders. At 62 Waters, we have chosen two of the best beans for your machine.
Café Kreme’s Gold Espresso Blend consists of a fine selection of coffee beans originating from Brazil, Honduras, Guatemala, and Uganda. It also has a 70/30 Arabica/Robusta ratio. In other words, it is ideally balanced to showcase the fruity and floral aroma of Arabica while the Robusta provides a satisfactory content of the creaminess and a rich body to easily combine with milk or be enjoyed black.
This blend is bold and works exceptionally well in a coffee machine.
It is a medium to dark roast, which means the coffee is fully developed. It is usually characterised by a spicy, possibly bittersweet tang. The coffee connoisseur will even pick up slight hints of chocolate or caramel flavours and a hint of smokiness.
Café Kreme’s Espresso Premium Blend is made of a combination of beans of Ethiopian, Guatemalan, and Honduran origin. It is 100% Arabica coffee. This means that it has a richer fragrance, but a slightly weaker body and the creaminess is not always consistent. With perfectly roasted beans, however, it still blends perfectly with milk. It is an all-around favourite and easy to enjoy coffee with or without a dash of milk.
This blend is slightly more subtle.
It is a medium blend which means it was roasted for just a couple of minutes less than the medium-dark roast. These beans are not as oily and showcase a medium acidity and body. It retains a lot of the unique flavours of the coffee’s origins while just dipping into the caramel/chocolate flavour profile of a longer roast.
All the blends can be purchased as beans or grounded to a fine, medium, or course consistency depending on your machine.
